USS Tennessee was used mainly on training and would participate in various fleet problem-solving exercises. In 1941, the Japanese Navy attacked Pearl Harbor, USS Tennessee would receive damage but damages were relatively minor. After repairs it would see action at Guadalcanal. USS Tennessee, then again returned, and modern alterations. It would also see service in the Aleutians, Gilbert and Marshall Islands campaign, the Mariana Islands and Palau, Battle of Leyte Gulf War, Lingayen Gulf War and the battle of Iwo Jima.
