Vintage 1950's Benrus Series #2155 Watch w/Aged Dial,Signed Crown,Airflex Band

Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1950's Benrus has an aged and worn "FRANCE" signed dial and lume, which remains fully intact and no longer emits a glow after being exposed to bright light, that has aged to a lovely toasted buttermilk hue. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF | DUSTPROOF | STAINLESS STEEL BACK | SHOCK ABSORBING" with "SERIES #2155 - OPEN WITH BLADE" and "BENRUS" stamped along the inner edge. The crystal shows scratching. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale I don't feel comfortable removing the case back on this watch. The manual wind movement runs strong, albeit a bit fast. After recently winding the signed, non-screwdown crown 34 full revolutions the movement ran about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 39 hour power reserve period. The crown winds buttery smooth. Given that the movement runs a smidge fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 36 mm including the crown and approximately 17 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 5.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 8.5 mm. The stainless steel, USA made Airflex expandable band wears very comfortably and will easily accommodate a 7 inch wrist. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.
