Description: Vintage B&L Ray-Ban Stateside G-31 Full Mirror Black Red Green Yellow Sport Sunglasses True vintage B&L Ray-Ban Bausch & Lomb USA Stateside sport sunglasses circa 1970’s. Made in USA. Unisex. See measurements below. A true classic that never goes out of style. New old stock and never worn, but have imperfections from 50+ years of storage as noted in description below and shown in photos. Ray-Ban Bausch & Lomb G-31 Full Mirror impact resistant mineral glass lenses. G-31 is a neutral-gray lens that cuts all visible wavelengths uniformly to avoid color distortion. It transmits 31% of the light. Ideal for the harshest glare conditions including the open water, snow, and high altitudes. Blocks infrared and ultraviolet rays. Originally developed at the request of the Air Force. The lenses are pre-B&L etching, non-prescription and ready for wear with 100% UV protection. No scratches, but there are some very minor mirroring imperfections. The left lens has a 1mm spot. The right lens has slightly less dense mirroring on the outer edge and a few pinprick marks. Not visible when worn and not a nuisance to wear. See closeup photos. Retro cool acetate frame features layers of coordinating black, red, green, yellow, and navy hues. Sculpted clear acetate nose rests. Frame finish is nice and shiny. There may be hairline scratches to the acetate frame from storage. Not enough to dull the shine. Temples have been hand polished. No shrinkage noted. A silver Ray-Ban logo emblem adorns each temple. The inside of the right temple is impressed with B&L Ray-Ban U.S.A. The inside of the left temple is impressed with STATESIDE. Hinges operate well and all metal parts been hand polished with a precious metals polishing cloth. Screws are removable. No corrosion or rusting observed. The face frame and temples can be heated up and adjusted by an optician for the perfect fit. I always recommend seeing a pro for a custom fitting - we’re all different and it can make a huge difference in the fit, comfort, and appearance. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ Fit: I recommend a custom fitting with an optician, optometrist, or other equivalent. The temples can be heated up to provide you with an optimal, customized fit. Lenses can also be replaced with prescription lenses. Do not attempt to make adjustments on your own! If done improperly you can cause irreparable damage. I don’t take returns and especially cannot be of assistance if any adjustments (professional or otherwise) have been made or attempted. Cleaning and Care: I recommend using a hard or semi-hard case for storage and optimal protection. Rinse glasses with cool water if they become dusty and allow them to dry before cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth and lens cleaner. Never clean with a dry cloth alone. Do not leave sunglasses in direct sunlight and/or extreme temperatures for extended periods of time, such as a car glovebox. Condition: These are vintage sunglasses and my family has been the only owner. They are not perfect. Do not expect perfection or you will be disappointed. They are 50+ years old and are in excellent vintage condition. They have never been worn. They almost certainly need a proper fitting by an eye specialist. Condition is subjective and based on my personal expertise, but is still an opinion nonetheless. Evaluation of condition takes into consideration the condition of a given pair relative to others of the same or similar model, from the same time period and brand.
