VINTAGE EHTF ROSEVILLE POTTERY FUTURA SAILBOAT BOWL W/ FLOWER FROG 196-12" VGUC

Description: Hello. I am offering a remarkable vintage Roseville Pottery Futura Sailboat Console Bowl with separate flower frog (196-12") from my own personal collection. The pattern was produced circa 1928. It included very creative shapes. Round, square, oblong, and angular shapes with melting and blending of colors were common in this design. This pattern would fit into modern times as well as the Art Deco period. Futura pieces are highly sought after by and coveted among new and seasoned collectors alike. This particular piece is extremely hard to find in any condition, especially along with the flower frog. The mold is crisp and the colors are softly muted. It is nicely textured and is finished with a matte glaze. It is a heavy piece. The bowl with frog has no cracks, scratches, or paint loss. It is mostly clean on the outside except for a few stray marks on the base and some surface dirt on the base ring. It is also mostly clean on the inside except for a couple of stains and a little residue from having been used as a planter. There is a stray dark mark under the glaze on one of the bowl's corners and one near another corner. On a third of the bowl's corners is a small nick which appears to have been touched up (not by me). There is a chip on the bottom of one of the bowl's feet; it can be seen slightly from the side. The flower frog has a tiny factory flaw on its top edge where a bit of the material was pushed up; this is not considered to be damage. The frog also has a stray dark mark under the glaze on one side, Overall, the two-part set is in very good vintage condition. For the sake of accuracy, there are sporadic areas of crazing near the bowl's top outside edge, on its inside, on its base, and on the frog; this in no way detracts from the piece's attractiveness. Please disregard the appearance of any shiny white spots which are due to camera glare. The bowl's base and flower frog are both unmarked. The bowl's dimensions are 3-5/8" h x 12-3/8" w x 3-5/8" d. The frog's dimensions are 1-1/4" h x 4-1/8" w x 1-1/2" d. The set displays beautifully and is a superb example of its kind.
