Description: Vintage Rushton Twins Jack and Jill Rare Music Box Dolls Colorful Couple 1960s. This sweet set of dolls with their happy faces belonged to me in the 1960s. These twins, Jack and Jill, had a music box in them. Jack's music box is still inside but Jill had an operation and had her's removed. There is no wind-up key for Jack's music, but you may be able to find one that fits and see if he still plays the ole' 60's song my mother sang along to me: Jack and Jill Went up the hillTo fetch a pail of waterJack fell downAnd broke his crownAnd Jill came tumbling after As I played with these dolls, sadly they lost their original clothing including Jack's crown and like I said after Jill's operation, she received many stitches. My mother made them some new clothes and now they are as good as new! Not in too bad shape for such old dolls, I would hate to have to tell my age here...so I won't. They have a few soiled spots especially on the bottoms of their felt shoes but no rips or tears. They are made of cloth and felt with rubber faces and hands. Their hair is made of a synthetic fiber. Jack has red hair and Jill has blond hair. Jack has a bright plaid top and light plaid bottoms under his yellow jump suit rick rack trimmed in blue with light blue felt shoes 3 1/2". Jill has a polka dot full body suit under her yellow apron with blue rick rack trim to match Jack's outfit. Jill has yellow felt shoes. Manufactured by The Rushton Company. They are being sold together, not separate. They are 17" tall....15" arm span from hand to hand....11" around tummy. Together they weigh 1# 7oz In excellent vintage pre-owned condition!! From a Smoke Free Pet Free home and Climate Controlled Storage. Please Note: All of the dolls were stored in a huge trunk and closed up for years. When we got them out we noticed just a hint of a musty odor to them. Since then we have moved them all out to air and because it was not a heavy odor they seem ok now. So we hope that helped and just so you know ahead of time. In order to preserve the original vintage integrity of our items, we do not clean or repair them. We sell them "as-is". Most of our items can be cleaned, polished, repaired and conditioned in order to achieve a better look, but many customers prefer to purchase an original piece and then work on them later if needed.
