Description: Vintage South Bend Bamboo Bait Casting Rod #105 5’6” This is a one piece with detachable handle vintage South Bend bait casting rod. Model #105. The rod is 5’6” in length. Light/ medium action design for baits of 1/4-5/8 oz. and lines of 6-12 lb. test. Rod dates to the late 1940’s. The rod has a 4 3/4” specie cork rear grip, 3 3/4” brushed nickel silver down sliding ring locking reel seat, and a 1 1/4” specie cork foregrip with nickel silver ferrule. The rod has four (4) heavy stainless steel bait casting guides and a like tip top. Two of the four guides are correct vintage replacements as is the tip top. Guide wraps are red silk with goldenrod nylon accents. Bamboo is nice and without flaw but does have an ever so slight list to the right. Specie cork has been cleaned, patched and reconditioned. The bottom cork was damaged and replaced. Rod will pack in a clear plastic rod sleeve inside of a length of new PVC. Handle will pack separately. Both ship well protected in a four sided card board tube. USPS Ground Advantage.
