Description: WWII PHILIPPINE SEA FRONTIER 1945 CHRISTMAS SOUVENIR MAP OF MANILA SHOWING 40 POINTS OF INTEREST 78 YEARS OLD! WWII Notably poignant item of memorabilia. One side has a street plan of Manila with a numbered key identifying 40 places of interest. Above and below the map are photographs of public buildings with damage sustained during the war. On the opposite side is an aerial view of Manila with a photo of the Quiapo Church and text giving information on Navy Clubs, Dances, Red Cross Clubs, Divine Services, Sightseeing and Outings, Christmas Day Special Programs, Sports, Movies and Shows, Snack Bars and Canteens. This is a folded broadsheet map. The Philippine Sea Frontier had been re-established as a separate command under the US Navy’s Seventh Fleet (Southwest Pacific Area) on November 13, 1944. This map is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. There’s no spillage of liquid, no tears or rips, no pen/pencil markings or notes added by owner. There's only one area that is yellowed due to age and can be seen in photo. It does NOT affect any photos or other important information on the map. I have other photos, but could only add 24 for the listing. A beautiful, and very RARE piece for the collector.
